For an interactive map of Tuzla, go to www.075-tuzla.com and click on "interaktivna mapa". In general, Tuzla is a mostly industrial city, but it still has some charm. Most of its old structures were destroyed throughout communism with an excuse that it's all due to the "sinking of the city because of the salt mines". Well, most of the mosques built in 1500s are still standing, so that was a lame excuse, but leave it to communists to mess things up.:) Anyway, Tuzla today is a vibrant expanding city in the North-East of Bosnia. During the recent agression on Bosnia, Tuzla and its immediate area represented the largest free territory in Bosnia, so it hasn't suffered that much of the war destruction. People are friendly and there's good food. What more could you ask for! |
