The White House Lawn
Washington, D.C. is a city worth visiting when in the United States. If I were to rank the major U.S. cities in importance of visiting, Washington, D.C. would be 3rd behind New York and San Francisco respectively.

What makes this city so unique and worth visiting is the infinite amount of culture that one is exposed to here. This is a city rich with educational opportunities, cozy neighborhoods, cherry blossoms, an amazing zoological park (with Pandas), excellent universities, political mayhem, historical relics, and memorials left and right. Not only do you learn about the United States' history, but the countless museums offer the visitor so much to see. From the National Art Gallery (West and East Wings) to the new Spy Museum. There's something for everyone. If you go to the West Wing of the National Art Gallery, you will see the only painting of Leonardo Da Vinci that is in the Americas. The best part of all the museums and the zoo is that they're all free!

Be sure to allow at least a weekend if not a week to explore and enjoy. The United States is proud of it's beautiful capital (not the current president though, namely GWB).

Pros:"So much to do it can be overwhelming."
Cons:"A very quiet downtown at night."
In A Nutshell:"More than just crooked politicians and countless embassies."

Andrew, thanks for the Washington tour. Loved the idea of seeing the White House at night. I agree with you that it's a must see while visiting U.S. So many Americans have never been here.
