Restaurant Name: Im Weissen Rössl Restaurant und Cafe
By far, one of the larger restaurants we saw in Sankt Wolfgang, it is also very famous. It gets it's fame from the famous operetta composed by Ralph Benatzky in 1930. The operetta has been translated into four languages and tells about a holiday romance on the Wolfgangsee.
It's name means "The White Horse Inn" It was built in 1878 and has remained a family run business for several generations. It really seems that they've been doing something very right. Not only was the food extremely delicious, but the view of the lake and mountains was beyond words.
Each meal was prepared with great care and very elaborate display. The main courses were stupendous and the desserts, phenomenal!
Certainly every visitor must stop here and dine! At the very least, you get to enoy the beautiful view of the lake so be sure to ask for a seat on the terrace! It's perfect for honeymooners or any romantic getaway!!!
Favorite Dish: I went with one of my favorite Austrian dishes, Schwein Medallions (Pork medallions)! It was seasoned and seared to perfection! Yummy!!!!
Liz had the Plum dumplings which were also superb!
For desert, what better than a nice warm Apfel Struedel (apple struedel)?
