Vik is a very small town in the South of Iceland. I believe the total population is around 300 people. It made a great stopping place on our way to the East. We only spent about 2 hours there but we saw what I find makes Vik unique. The black sandy beaches and the rock pillar formation off the coast. It was splendid. The once thing we missed out on (probably because of our late visit) was seeing the nesting colonies of Terns, Puffins Fulmar, and Auk not too far from the town. If you're driving around Iceland, be sure to stop! Hopefully, the weather will be much more cooperative than it was for us! One last tip for you, visit coceng's page on Vik. It's much more comprehensive!
