Heavenly Winglass Bay Beach at Freycinet N.P.
As you drive north of Hobart on Highway A3, you eventually come across the small town of Llandaff about 30 km after Swansea and just before Bicheno. Here, a road turns towards Coles Bay. This is the one turn you cannot miss. What lies ahead is the town of Coles Bay which is the gateway to the magnificent Freycinet National Park.

With it's excellent bush-walks, the majestic Hazards, Mt. Freycinet, the heavenly Wineglass Bay Beach, Hazards Beach, and the park's abundant wildlife, the park is more than an adventure, it really feels like paradise.

The park is situated on the Freycinet Peninsula which makes the park accessible only from the north. Visitors can only hike into the park. Driving ends at the parkinglot at the entrance. From there, if you want to see the park or any of it's breathtaking sites, you'll have to walk.

Australia was certainly one of the most beautiful places I've ever visted, but Freycinet National Park, really was the best of Australia, and quite arguably, the highlight of our trip. It was, in a word, surreal.

Pros:"Pristine, remote, isolated, a world apart! Stunningly Beautiful!!!!"
Cons:"It's so far away from where I call home... in Tasmania!"
In A Nutshell:"Incredably beautiful, nature at it's best!"

Though I don't share your rating of Freycinet (I rate very good but think others are better) I can but admire the quality of your tips. In a word - excellent.

At the weekend I was thinking that I should visit Tasmania one day. After having a look at your page made me want to go there much more. Great page! Happy birthday from Finland!

Simply breathtaking! Great photos & insights about this heavenly place! You couldn't find a better description than "Cheek to cheek" lyrics for that divine beach indeed! I'll add Freycinet NP on my list!
