Who has not heard of Oberammergau, the world-famous village in the Bavarian Alps? The name at least is familiar to most people. Oberammergau has became world famous because of the passion plays performed in the village every ten years. More than 2,000 Oberammergau villagers will take part in the passion plays, fulfilling the solems promise of their forefathers to perform a play depicting the passion of Christ.

I've been to this beautiful city a couple of times but unfortunately when I was living in Germany I asn't able to get a ticket to the passion play. hopefully next time

I read about Oberammergau and it's passion plays in an funny XIX ct. english book and always was wondering how that place really looks like. You gave that place some lights!!!
