I visited Goa already in the end of 1991, the first year when Finnish tour agencies took India to their selection of locations. My mother has always been addicted to three countries, Egypt, Peru and India, so she wanted to head Goa right away and kindly paid my trip to be her personal translator ;)

I fell in love with India. For a long after our travel I planned of returning, most of all I would have loved to experience the Golden Triangle. However I always ended up travelling somewhere in Europe because I was -greedy. If I had enough money for travelling to India, I rather toured 2 destinations in Europe in one year. I don't regret it, but in a way wish I had seen more of India than just Goa.

Goa is the smallest of all Indian states with its' 3,702 Sq.Kms. It's located on the west coast of India and has a lot to offer: its natural scenic beauty, attractive beaches, christian churches and fascinating hindu temples, architecture with influence of the Portuguese, feasts and festivals and above all hospitable people. There are many things which make Goa a dream destination :)

The enrichment of colours

Goa is very rich of colours. Flowers, decorations, temples, spices, childrens clothes, women's saris... all in beautiful, bright colours.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Not as much beggars as elsewhere in India (at least this used to be...)
In a nutshell:So different, exotic, from a European point of view. Either you love India like me, or then you'll hate it.
