Haruna-ko Travel Guide: 11 reviews and 12 photos

Mt Haruna and its lake are totally what we call an "Off the Beaten Path" altough the area is known as a nice summer resort to the residents in Tokyo since very long time ago. In a word, it maybe too antiquated today. There are more popular resort like Karuizawa, Kusatsu or Ikaho near there.
Since my parents have been from the city nearby this area, I am familiar to there.
You will hardly see a foreign traveller but middle aged, elderies, young families (like us), campers and fishers.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:quitet, calm and not too touristy
  • Cons:there is not very much to do
  • In a nutshell:nice, tiny, forgotten resort
