Newstead House. This is only 2 minutes from where we live. It's a beautiful historic house dating back to 1846, with gorgeous gardens. It's open from Monday to Friday (10am to 4pm) and Sunday (2pm to 5pm). The cost is $ 4.40 for Adults and $ 2.20 for Children. It is apparently Brisbane's oldest dwelling. You can find it at Newstead Park (lovely place), Breakfast Creek Road, Newstead. When you've finished visiting the House, go across the road for a 'Brekky Creek Steak'. See 'Places to Eat'!

Brisbane Powerhouse. This place is a 5 minute walk from where we live. Beautiful old building, which houses a Live Arts Theatre, Restaurant, Bar and Gallery. Something a little different......... You can find it at 119 Lamington Street, New Farm (5-10 mins from the City). To visit their website: www.brisbanepowerhouse.org. Not to be confused with the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.......!

Brisbane Ghost Tours. I've never been on this one, but I've heard alot about it! It includes a visit to Boggo Road Gaol (Jail). For those of you Aussies who watched the 'Scream Test' series on TV last year, you know what I'm talking about. An absolutely freaky place - I for one would not like to go here at night. You can call them on (07) 3272 6234

Brisbane Botanical Gardens. Absolutely gorgeous gardens, and the place where you'll find couples lying on the grass just having a 'romantic' moment. The gardens are open 7 days a week, and can be found at Gardens Point, Alice Street in the City.

bezerra Sat Dec 10, 2005 12:10 UTC While I agree with the review on the food - the service was truly appalling. A rude waitress (using the term loosely here) destroyed the enjoyment of our evening. She told us "if you don't like it, don't come back". Well, we WON'T be going back. | harmoni Tue Apr 5, 2005 16:42 UTC Hi, thanks for the useful info about Brisbane (I admit I've kind of fallen in love with koalas :)) - and other great pages as well! | RedEaredPanda Sat Feb 19, 2005 00:39 UTC Thanks for the tips... Planning an overnight or possibly a two night stay in Brisbane in August..
