Things To Do: Aride Island

Aride is a special nature reserve. It has a large amount of seabirds, colonies of lesser noddy, roseate terns, and frigatebirds. We also saw white tailed baby Tropicbirds. It is a great place to spend the day. Tour the island, have lunch, and then go for a swim. before returning to Praslin.

A primeval rainforest, one of the best reasons to see Praslin. The Valle de Mai is steamy, exotic, and full of atmosphere. Giant specimens of our everyday houseplants, a posssible glimps of the rare black parrot that lives here, and a place to observe the Coco de Mer trees. Could this be the Garden of Eden? Catkin of the unique male coco de mer has inspired many legends and the theory that it was.
