Waipio Valley Lookout

Kukuihaele is the last stop before entering the Waiopio Valley. At the end of the highway you will come to the Waipio Valley Lookout. It is a beautiful sight indeed with cliffs reaching near 3,000 feet. You see the blue pacific ocean waters, seperated by the white surf, backed by the dark black-sand beach. Behind the beach you see many shades of green.

Into the valley

You cannot be satisfied with just a look at the valley from here, you must have a look at the valley floor, a journey back in time to learn some Hawaiian secrets.. You can do this by hiking, by a mule-drawn wagon, or by four-wheel shuttle.

Wow! That's really a wonderful introductory photo, Kay. Kukuihaele is beautiful, and your photographs are spectacular..I especially loved the waterfall and the horses drinking.

I would love to visit Kukuihaele's Hiilawe Falls for myself--the tallest 'unbroken waterfall' would be an amazing thing to see!
