    • Zercero is famous for its topiary garden in front of the town church.
    The surrounding mountainous country-side is attractive and the climate is cool.
    It is the beginning of the organic agriculture belt.

    • Mountain, plains, volcanoes, rivers, fruit farms, and cattle ranches are all in the north central part of Costa Rica. Try to see as much of this area as you can.
    Don't miss seeing one of the most active volcanoes in the world, Arenal Volcano

    • Look for beautiful butterflies. Costa Rica is unusually blessed by the diversity of it's butterflies. There exists about 20,000 butterfly species worldwide. Of these, about 1,000 or 5% can be found in Costa Rica.

    • There are many exotic-looking beetles such as the one in the picture . Even if you are not into bugs, you might be surprised at how pretty some of them are.

    • There are many very pretty waterfalls in Costa Rica. One of my favorites is the Peace Waterfall. You can see it on the winding road coming down from Poas National Park.
    It was pouring down rain when we drove by but I had to have this picture.
