It was our anniversary when we stayed here. They gave us an upgrade to a suite. We got a fruit plate everyday and orchids. The service here was exceptional and the food was very good.
Unique Qualities: It was a short walk to the beach from our cottage. They had a nice pool area but the pool was not working when we were there. Our cottage had a side stairs where we could go up to the rooftop terrace to stargaze or have a cocktail on the roof.

We enjoyed our stay at Dolphin Bay Resort very much. We came to stay three nights and didn't leave for a week and then only because it was time to come back to the states. It is in an ideal location for birdwatching. The park being 4-5 km. to the south, the freshwater marsh 15 km.to the north, and the long beach right there.
Unique Qualities: The owners of this resort are very friendly and helpful. There is a nice pool and a great swimming beach across the road. The sunrise is worth getting up early to see, coming up over the mountain. It is just a few miles to Khoa Sam Roi Yat National Park

VeronicaG Fri Oct 10, 2008 13:42 UTC The river cruise on the old rice barge sounded wonderful--your ride atop the elephant must have been exciting, too--you sure can't do that in Texas! | toonsarah Mon Nov 19, 2007 13:56 UTC A great overview. You seem to have stayed in some lovely places. I'd enjoy a ride on an elephant & the canal boat trip, and I like the photo of the bee eater especially | matcrazy1 Tue Feb 6, 2007 09:23 UTC Temples, birds and boat ride up Khao Daeng Canal through mangrove swamps full of birds, and monkeys sound very attractive to me. Enjoyable local custom tip + picture :-) | aussiejen Tue Jun 20, 2006 23:16 UTC I'll have my own Thailand tips soon. Going to Bangkok and Chiang Mai in September : ))) |
