En route

Labuan is an island with a population of approximately 54,000 and occupies 38 sq miles. It is a federal territory of Malaysia, off Sabah, North Borneo, in the South China Sea.
Coconuts, rubber, and rice are the main products. Victoria, the chief town, has a fine harbor and an airport and is the shipping center for much of North Borneo.
Many traveler pass through on their way to Brunei or on daytrips from Kota Kinabalu.
There isn't much to see or do there but I really liked that small island.
There are several shops in the city center, it has duty free shopping, so there are liquor stores on every block. There are also several small restaurants that serve Indian, Chinese, and Malay food.

There were mirrored buildings across from our hotel. They produced very interesting reflections.
We could see our hotel in them, somewhat distorted..

We had a view of the town from our balcony and of the mirrored building across the street.
See out hotel in the reflection?

A combination of a progressive island and a "laidback" paradise! Excelent photographs, especially the introductory one! Enjoyed the description of the hotel. A fisherman's dream, huh?

Another exotic location. The An'nur Jamek Mosque really is impressive and it does look a little extra-terestial. Great fishing tips too!

I've been in the area, but not quite here. The An'nur Jamek, does indeed have some similarities to a Star Wars Storm Trooper - it's nice to see how modern architecture develops!
