Aride Island

Aride shore
Aride is a granite island, 45 minutes by boat from Praslin.
Ninety percent of the island is occupied by a rugged hill rising to 134m, the remaining area is a flat plain with beautiful white sand.
Tropicbird
Aride is home to over a million seabirds. It has Seychelles' largest population of 11 nesting seabird species.

 Kay, this sounds like a great day outing!! I was impressed with how visitors are brought ashore! Great bird photos and information on the efforts to protect them on their isolated little outcrop.

 I'm so glad the conservation methods are working here & the numbers of rare birds is increasing - The pics of the birds are great = you capture them so well

 Bravo for the warblers! I sure enjoyed these pages and seeing all the birds, especially the whitetailed tropicbirds. It must be exciting to be able to photograph these birds, especially the rare ones.
