Mahe is the largest island in the Seychelles. It is 17 miles long and 5 miles across. It is home to the country's capital, Victoria.
Victoria is the only town and one of the world's smallest capital cities.
The town center is marked by a clock tower.
This clock is a replica of the clock tower on London's Vauxhall Bridge.

    You managed to see quite a bit of beautiful Mahé during your time on the island! That rule about having pre-booked accoms is quite strange! I liked your 'flying fox' photo - it reminded me of seeing them hanging from trees in Papua New Guinea.

    Both Beau Vallon and secluded beaches look fantastic! Wow, gardens, fruit bats, small waterfall etc. etc. make this place very special. Well, maybe too touristy at places :-)

    Cuch a lovely Island with spice gardens, tea factory, fruit bats, National Park, small waterfall, ruins, craft and ceramics market, & beautiful Botonical Gardens. It's such a pleasure to read about your adventures because they are so well written

    Beautiful area especially the turquoise beaches and the coast road near Port Glaud. " Exciting" place where going to Church is a social event and you have to look out for falling coconuts.

    Mahe has so many lovely secluded spots in which to swim or fish...what a pretty place! I had no idea fruit bats could be part of anyone's cuisine...I wonder if they had a fruity taste...
