Charlotteville is located at the north end of Tobago. A fishing village with houses built on the side of the mountain facing Man of War Bay. The bay is shaped like a wide horseshoe and it is one of the best natural harbours in the Caribbean. It is surrounded by forested mountains which climb to heights of 1,800 feet. |
| | Limein' Limein' is a favorite pastime in Charlotteville. The word Limein' is a popular Caribbean colloquial that simply means a non-violent, social gathering ... |
| | Trails As you drive down the winding road into the village you may be welcomed by a flock of squacking parrots. Vistors to Charlotteville are mostly divers or birdwatchers. Around the bay are seldom used roads and trails from where you can see parrots, rufous-tailed jacamars, rufous - vented chachalacas, mot-mots and ruby-topaz hummingbirds. |

Bwana_Brown Sat Sep 12, 2009 12:56 UTC I don't know how I missed these Caribbean adventures of yours! Driving yourself around in a Jeep sounds like a fun way to see Charlotteville! Looks like a great little spot in which to just relax. | VeronicaG Fri Oct 31, 2008 21:37 UTC Charlotteville definitely seems to have its share of exotic birds--love its location by the bay, too! | cadc Tue Aug 28, 2007 03:22 UTC Man Friday Dive centre closed in May 2005. Charlotteville Adventure Dive Centre is now the only Centre operating full-time in the village. | matcrazy1 Sun Feb 11, 2007 07:21 UTC It's a great place for birdwatchers, I see. Do they pose for camera? I would surely try the best chicken that your husband has even eaten :-) I'd also hear locals playing music on their steel drums but maybe not at 4am :-) |
