Zarcero is a nice little mountain town that we stopped to see on our way back from a few days in the cloud forest. We only stopped because we had read about the amazing shapes of the topiary that filled the park.
We were not diasppointed.

I am traveling to Zarcero and am having trouble finding a low budget place to stay. Your tip says US$40-80 but I found much higher prices on the website. Am I doing something wrong or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks so much!

Intriguing, and not what I expected of Costa Rica at all! Again, the hotel looks really lovely - anywhere with humming birds appeals to me :) I love your photos of them!

The topiaries are such unique "art". It must have been great weaving through the gardens to search them out!!!
