Getting TO/AROUND: We decided to take a taxi after dinner back to our hotel. The one thing we did not think about was that the taxi driver didn't understand the name of our hotel in english. We got quite a tour of Bangkok that night and a lesson on defensive driving. It was a great experience and we enjoyed it. Hopefully it will remind us to pick up a business card from the hotel where we are staying or at least have someone print out the name in that countries language.

Getting TO/AROUND: The Chao Praya river is a very busy waterway. Chao Phraya River boats ply along the river during the day stopping at regular piers. These boats are an inexpensive and convenient way for a Bangkok sightseeing tour of the river.
A Chao Phraya River tourist boat service is also available for a day tour of selected historical areas and piers. Boat rental services are also available for groups of 20 or more.
A total of 34 Chao Phraya River piers located along this 25 km winding stretch of river. You don't have to go all the way though, just take your pick and get on and off where you wish.
Chao Phraya River ferries provide point-to-point crossings at various piers to help you get to the other side.
A river cruise in Bangkok provides a very different perspective of life in the city on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

kyoub Sun Dec 9, 2007 12:44 UTC Thank you for visiting my Bangkok page. I guess we will just have to return someday to see more of it. | Nemorino Sun Dec 9, 2007 12:13 UTC Sounds like you managed to see and do quite a bit, even though it was such a short stay. | starship Sun Dec 9, 2007 00:08 UTC Thailand has been on my wish list for a long time, but I think the long flight might kill me!! | LoriPori Mon Dec 3, 2007 12:14 UTC Sticky rice and Mango sounds delish. I gather the taxi driver eventually got you to your hotel - so it is a good idea to have a business card with you. |
