Banjar

West of Lovina

Banana Trees
Every day we walked a couple blocks down the street from our hotel to use the internet.
We started talking to the lady that owned the store there and she told us that her husband would be happy to take us on a tour around the countryside.
We booked a 2 hour tour for later on in the afternoon.
That is how we happened to go to Banjar. It is located in northern Bali.
There we saw a very impressive Buddhist monestery and a natural hot spring.
Great view

Monastery

One of the more intriguing places to visit in this area is the Brahma Arama Vihara, a Buddhist monastery.
From there you have great views out over the rice fields to the sea.

You have gone to the most exotic places, Kay! The monastery looked interesting. And I loved the sarong--you must have felt part of the culture.

It was great you were able to get around the island a bit to take in the monastery and baths! I once tried out a hot springs spa near Arenal volcano in Costa Rica - a series of natural pools in a small stream. Quite enjoyable! Great banana leaf shot!

Brahma Vihara Ashrama - the only monastery on Balis - looks FANTASTIC! Thanks a lot for sharing :-)
