Beware of touts

The touts will attach themselves to you at the carpark and follow you all the way to the steps leading to the monument. They will say Hello my name is so and so , Then they will show you what ever they are selling at that time. If you say no you are not interested they say remember my name it is so and so, I will be waiting for you when you get back. Waiting there they are as soon as you get back down the steps. Then they follow you all the way back to the car park. Plus they are joined by several other touts trying to sell you something else.

Unique Suggestions: Buy something and hope the others will leave you alone but that is very doubtful.
The guide said it was worse when we were there because of lack of tourists at that time.

Fun Alternatives: I don't think there is an alternative because there is no other way to get to see Borobudur except walk past them. Maybe go very early and hope some of them are sleeping late.
