The plaque says it all
There can be no doubt that the fort is worth seeing, being a UNESCO heritage site, and the views from here are superb (see the sports travel section.) The structure is remarkably well preserved, with the clock tower being a notable feature. It also affords excellent views of the town, the sea and the distant mountains. It's worth having a guided tour to see some of the colonial buildings within as well.

Directions: From bus or train station: walk either side of cricket ground, enter through tunnel behind war memorial.
