Rosario is the 2nd (if you are rosarino) or 3rd (if you are from Cordoba) city of Argentina. It is slightly over a million people and was, before World War II, as important to the world grain markets as Chicago is today. It sits on the banks of the Rio Parana ... the widest river I have ever seen, there are islands in the middle of it.
Rosario has seen better days, there are no two ways about it, but despite that it is one of my favorite places. Why? in a word, people. I love the citizens of Rosario, They are eager to learn about strangers, they are helpful, they readily accept you and they are just a joy to be around. It doesn't hurt that the women of Rosario are, without a doubt, the most beautiful in the world. I defy anyone to prove otherwise. The men all look like Ricardo Montalban, the actor ... but who cares.
Rosario has heritage, it is the birthplace of the Argentine flag; it is the birthplace of Che Guevara; it has sites to see; it has the river; it has parks and golf courses; it has two futbol teams Central and Newell's Old Boys; it has universities;it has sidewalk cafes; it has Cordoba Street for shopping and it is all wrapped in a fairly tight, small package.
Te quiero mucho, Rosario!!!!!!
