Waverley Station
Arriving in Edinburgh by train, you'll most likely arrive at Waverley. Usual large station facilities including a Marks and Spencers Simply Food. Can be a bit chaotic. Also in the lowest point of the city (the rail lines come in below and beneath the castle and Princes St Gardens) so it's a climb in any direction to get out.
The station is part through track, part terminus. Trains from/to England are on the outer tracks, trains to eg Glasgow are through the concourse. If your train is from the Siberia of tracks 20/21, this is completely walled off. Go up the half-hidden stairs to the right (facing-in) of the waiting hall (also an exit to the Old Town) and go left.
