"Stenhousemuir FC" Larbert by zizkov

Maroon and White

The main reason for anyone to visit Stenhousemuir (the small towns of Larbert and Stenhousemuir are totally joined) is The Warriors, Stenhousemuir FC. A small club, currently top of the Scottish Third Division (Aug 05), SFC have gathered fans from Norway, Denmark, England and Wales. In fact, the stand is currently named the Norway Stand as the Norwegian fans have sponsored it. So, if you are around in the football season, come along to Ochilview and see a game at the grass roots.

In the picture, you can see the Ochil Hills (ideal, incidentally, if you fancy some hillwalking but can't get to the Highlands), and, somewhat surreally, a funfair over the stadium wall. The game pictured was a tense clash with promotion rivals Brechin City, which ended 2-2. Well, they were promotion rivals at the time of the pic, they are now two divisions above us.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:The Warriors
  • Cons:Nothing else of note - apart from being the home of McCowan's Highland Toffee
