El Baul Museum.

A pre-columbian archeological site located in the Escuintla Department, 4 km north of the city of Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa, the site is inside a private finca or estate, and surrounded by sugar cane fields. There are few remains of the original city, the site was destroyed by new urbanization plans. Inside the estate near the refinery headquarters they built a small interesting museum with great sculptures and stelae founded in the sugar plants nearby.

The museum is open from 8.00am to 4.00pm and there´s is no entrance fee.

The Jaguar.

Maybe the most extraordinary sculpture on exhibition, this jaguar sculpture was taken as the symbol of the city of Santa Lucia.
