This is one of the places where you must spend a week or two in order to get a feel for it. Same happened to me - I didn't like the city at all at first, but after a couple of weeks spent there - I started liking it. Now it counts as one of my favourite big cities in the world. |

| | Good stuff Mexico City looks like any metropolitan city in the world. I like the way different areas are distributed around the city, colonial historical center, modern Zona Rosa and Paseo de La Reforma, more residential and quiet La Condesa, touristy but still authentic Coyoacan - to name a few. There are many messy areas as well where street vendors overflow the pavements and leave piles of garbage behind but that behaviour is part of typical Latin flare and I didn't mind it at all.
Their metro system is the safest, the cheapest, the best organized, and the cleanest one I ever used.
People are relaxed and they overall look happy - dancing on the street in the middle of the day is not unusual here. |
| | The bad... Well pollution of course, at times it is difficult to breathe, almost everywhere one can smell fumes and gases. Even though major part of the city looks clean but some plazas and streets are full of garbage. |
