Puerto Vallarta Hotel Tips by Srechko

This hotel is popular among Mexican tourists and we were the only international guests there. Hotel is clean, well maintained, in a good location, but street noise does not let you sleep long in the morning. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

I have to mention however that they do have quiet rooms - it was my fault I choose a room close to the pool (and street noise by the way).

Unique Qualities: Aside from being so noisy (especially in the morning), hotel's location is excellent, beach is 5 minutes away by walk, closest bus stops are minutes away and there are lots of useful stores in its vicinity (bakery, cafes, restaurants, grocery stores). It takes you around 10 minutes of walk to get to Malecon.

Hotel has a small kitchen located outside on the top floor, looked kind of funny, we never used it even to make coffee. Hotel's pool is OK but small - never used it either....Basically this is not a hotel where you hang around to use its facilities - it is more sleep and go out.

Wow what a relief it was to leave noisy Posada Roger and move to this wonderful hotel. We stayed 3 nights in Posada and couldn't handle it any more.

Then we found an excellent deal at this hotel. Its brother, more modest hotel named similarly located right accross was closed. So they offered us the big bachelor apartment at the "Suites" hotel for the price of 2 bedroom at the older hotel. 4th night was free so we ended up paying around $45 per night.

Hotel's location is excellent, almost at the beach, rooms have ocean view, and price was unbeatable.

Unique Qualities: We had a ocean view (not direct though but you could see it). Hotel's pool is small and unattractive, we never used it. We went to the other fancy hotel Playa Los Arcos located in the vicinity (you have to sneak in it).

Basically this hotel was hardly working, it offers no facilities, but we weren't looking for any anyway, so we were happy with it.

Well we didn't really stay at this hotel but that didn't stop us from using their pool and beach. It was nice for us to run away from the downtown beach and forget about beach vendors that don't let you relax for more than 3-4 minutes. They are forbidden from approaching the property of big hotels llike this one.

Another hotel we "abused"....After our hike to El Eden (see my traps section) we took a break at the pool of this hotel.

Unless you are an couple on honey moon you won't like this hotel. It is nice, clean, quiet and it doesn't have anything mexican (except staff - even they didn't look very mexican to me). After listening to the tombola game the guests were playing, we figured that all of them were American.

Unique Qualities: Beautiful pool and surroundings. However as soon as you step on the beach (which is not so nice) you get abused by local vendors.
