East meets West...

Cosmopolitan City

Dubai Creek / Abras
After my first visit to Dubai, it became obvious that Abu Dhabi and Dubai don't have much in common.

Dubai is a cosmopolitan, new, and attractive city and makes an amuzing destination for all types of travellers.
Heritage Village scene

Mix of old and new

Nowhere have I seen such a contrast between traditional and contemporary and West and East as in Dubai. You can see scenes like this one on the photo and a kilometer away the most contemporary skyscrapers, man made islands, and other architectural wonders (i.e. indoor ski center).

Safe and clean city with beautiful beaches

One thing in common for all city areas is that I felt equally safe wherever I went.

Beach is also impressive even though the water was kind of chilly.

City is constantly developing (there is a huge construction site in the city susburbs) and it would be fun to go back in a few years and see new architecural miracles.

Cool page! I was just reading about Dubai today in the travel section of the Toronto Star. It sounds like it's becoming some sort of middle eastern Vegas!!
