Antigua Guatemala Travel Guide: 786 reviews and 1,784 photos
I spent 2 days and nights in Antigua in December 2006 as part of my 56 day Mexico & Central America trip.
I must say that Antigua was not my favourite town in the country, main reason being a very touristy place and as such does not really represent typical Guatemalan town.
Aside from that, town is beautiful with its colorful colonial houses and cobblestone streets. It reminded me of San Cristobal in Mexico, but Antigua is smaller and little more quiet.
Town's market was great, located in more authentic surroundings.
- Pros:Very pretty town
- Cons:Too touristy and more expensive than rest of the country
