Miles Historical Village

Entrance to Dogwood Crossing aka Miles
For AUD10 you will enjoy your morning browsing the town which used to exist till it was preserved for tourism. The Miles town center is just next to this historical village. I enjoyed looking at old vehicles, the amazing collections of produce, factory products and strange-looking antiques. My favourite was the various old pianos that were strategically placed in a mock-house, the restaurant and the women's association. A throughly wild, wild, west experience complete with the steam engine, enormous printing press and zany farm vehicles. I loved the antique petrol kiosks too!
Royal mail carriage

Vehicles galore at Miles Historical Village

There are a good variety of vehicles to see at the Miles Historical Village, from farming trucks, wagons to tree-pullers, cranes, transportation and well, my all-time favourite - the Royal Mail carriage.

Petrified wood

You'd think they were finely polished stones, but they are wood so old that they have turned to stone... I'm sure you know what petrified is if you are a fan of Harry Potter's. The art of collecting or searching for these "stones" is called fossicking.
Brilliant colours, beatiful cuts, exotic names

Pros:"If you like history and collectables"
Cons:"Only the historical village was interesting"
In A Nutshell:"Worth the AUD10 - war museum, aboriginal site and other things included"
