Ringwood, NJ

Ringwood Manor State Park is on the border of New York State and New Jersey. It is located about 30 miles to the northwest of Midtown Manhattan. The main feature of Ringwood Manor are the old mansions and their grounds. However, the park extends many miles beyond the mansions to protect the area from overdevelopment, which is rampant in Northern New Jersey.

How to Get to Ringwood.

Take Exit 57 off I-287 in Oakland, which is Skyline Drive. Follow Skyline Drive to its end, which is County Route 511 (Greenwood Lake Tpk.). Take a right onto Route 511 and take it to a sign pointed to NY Route 17 or Sloatsburg Road. Take Sloatsburg Road to Morris Road. Ringwood Manor is located at the end of Morris Road.

Pros and Cons
