Hidden New Jersey

Delaware Water Gap from Hope, NJ
New Jersey is my home state. I have lived in New Jersey for 31 years. For years, New Jersey has gotten a bad rap. I hope through this page that you will see New Jersey has nice areas to visit. I have been blessed living in the Northwest corner of the state. Here we have mountains with nice lakes. I also love that New Jersey played a vital role in the history of the United States. There are many historical sites to visit like Morristown, Washington's Crossing, and Monmouth battlefield. New Jersey is also famous for its shore. There are many great areas to visit along the shore like Cape May, Wildwood, Seaside Heights, and Sandy Hook. Once you get past the sterotype of New Jersey, you will find it has much to offer

My Favorite Places of New Jersey

Diners: There is nothing more New Jersey than that.

Hoboken: One of the best vantage points for the NYC Skyline.

Delaware River North of Trenton: A great place to take a ride and see nice scenery.

Sussex County: A great place to visit during the Autumn months.

Lake Hopatcong: The largest lake of New Jersey.

Flemington: Unique shopping experiences.

Island Beach SP: My favorite shore point. One of the few places on the NJ Shore that is unspoiled.

Wildwood: My favorite shore resort town.

Cape May: For its lovely architecture.

Mendham/Far Hills: The place to see big mansions.

Hackettstown: The place I have called home for all my life.

Hahaha! I am one of those drivers from North Jersey, I am reading through these tips and I had no idea we had such a reputation! When I visit other parts of the country, I always thought I had the bad luck of running into slow drivers...go figure!

Nice pictures of the beach! 100 miles of beach, all states should have that!

I can see why New Jersey should be worth a visit, you show us some very great nature spots! I walked across the GW-bridge from Manhattan to the New Jersey, and I made it into a tip on my NYC page, because it so much greener on the other side!
