Bustling Bangkok

A view of the city from the Sukhumvit area

A City View
Bangkok is a very easy city to move around in even though it is extremely busy. The Sky-trains are the way to travel around plus the trusty tuk-tuks (if you are game).
I have always found the people to be exceptionally friendly and very pleasant. One has to learn the art of not getting caught by the beggars and hawkers but I have found a nice smile and 'no thanks' and then look away is the way that works for me.
There are many nice gardens and temples to spend hours in as well as places to spend money.
The Jim Thompson Gallery is a 'must' while in Bangkok.
An exquisite Thai dancer

Traditional Dancing

One of the best places to see a fantastic display of traditional dancing is at the Teakwood Palace.
This is near the centre of the city but is definietly a 'must see' when in Bangkok. The Palace is a set of buildings which were the previous King's city residence and has houses which were occupied by each of his Queens.

Bangkok Shopping

If you want to go to Bangkok to shop there are many and varied ways to do just that. There are lots of markets where the alley ways are small and crowded and the stores are packed full of anything you may require to buy. (Mind your wallets and purses in these places or you may lose them very easily)
Pratnum Plaza pictured here is a shopping centre just for electrical and technology goods. You can buy virtually any CD or DVD you want (most are pirated) and for computer or camera buffs you would be in heaven.
Have fun and don't forget to barter!!

Pros:"A busy but friendly place"
Cons:"The too obvious sex trade"
In A Nutshell:"I will return"
