Population: Argentina has a low demographic density. It consists of around 37 millon people, mainly established in the urban centres. The 85% of the population is descendant of inmigrants from Europe. As opposed to most Latin American countries, in Argentina there are relatively few Indian half castes (people of mixed races: european and indian).
Almost half of the population of the country live in the Federal Capital and the province of Buenos Aires. The urban population makes up the 88% of the whole whereas the rural population represents the 22%.
Language: American Spanish, plus 17 indigenous languages
Religion: 93% Roman Catholic, 2.5% Protestant, 2% Jewish, 1.5% Ukranian Catholic, 1% Armenian Orthodox
Government: Republic
President: Nestor Kirchner
In its vast surface Argentina offers every variety of climate and landscape: from tropical heat, always rainy and full of colorful vegetation, to polar cold, with its soberly white look thanks to snow and ice.
Located in the south in relation to the equator and the west in relation to Greenwich, the Argentine Republic is also a bi-continental country, since its territory occupies part of America and a portion of Antarctica.-

Yes, I've had fun despite all the initial hassle with the visa. I do hope to return one day to see Calafate & Valley of the Moon! :-) I want to hike on those glaciers at Perito Moreno!
