Tyn Cathedral - Prague

Tyn Cathedral

Tyn Cathedral Church of Our Lady before Tyn Review

The first church stood as early as 1135, but the foundations of the present day church were laid two hundred years later.-
The two spires are not symmetrical. This was characteristic of the gothic architecture of the time which tried to represent both the masculine and feminine sides of the world.-

Wenceslas' Square - Prague

Wenceslas' Square

Wenceslas' Square Wenceslas Square Review

Wenceslas Square is a very broad and hilly commercial center of Prague lined with expensive, western influenced shops and restaurants, but it is a place full of history that is not to be missed during your visit to Prague.
The boulevard running through the middle of the square originates from the Charles IV period (over 600 years ago) when it was used as a horse market.
On the top of the hill and centered on the boulevard is the domed National Museum.
This pedestrian boulevard is Prague's main commercial area. The beautiful landscaping and plenty of benches along the boulevard also make this a great place to rest and people watch.

Prague Child Jesus - Prague

Prague Child Jesus

Church of Our Lady Victorius Church of Our Lady Victorious Review

This church is famous because of the well-kwnon wax figurine of the Prague Infant Jesus. The Infant Jesus receive many gifts from its worshippers and now has a unique collection of clothes. The most valuable of them is an outfit that Maria Teresa made and embroidered herself as a present.-

Golden Lane - Prague

Golden Lane

Golden Lane Golden Lane Review

The Golden Lane, one of the more picturesque streets, named after the goldsmiths who lived here in the 17th century. The tiny, brightly painted houses that line only one side were built in the late 1500s for castle guards. A century later, the goldsmiths moved in. Franz Kafka once lived in No. 22.
In the lane you can enjoy the many shops that occupy the picturesque houses today - and you can also enjoy a wonderful view of the city from a point which you reach via the stairs at the eastern end of the lane.-

St. Vitus Cathedral - Prague

St. Vitus Cathedral

St Vitus Cathedral St Vitus's Cathedral Review

The third courtyard of the castle is the most impressive; it contains the large, blackened St. Vitus Cathedral. The whole thing is gorgeous - stained glass windows, private chapels, and beautiful doors in and out. The tower at one end can be climber and provides a great view.-

Nerudova Street

The Nerudova street is leading up from the Little Quarter Square to the Prague Castle, it used to be a part of the Royal Way. It is architectural very interesting street with Renaissance and Baroque facades and famous "house signs" - emblems used for distinguish houses before the introduction of numbers.-
This street takes its name from Jan Neruda, a novelist who lived on this street and wrote novels and stories placed in this district. The great chilean writer, Pablo Neruda, after reading these novels, took the name to use it as his pseudonym.-
Today the street is full of restaurants, cafes and little souvenir shops.-
