Giardino di Boboli - Florence

Giardino di Boboli

Giardino di Boboli Pitti Palace & Boboli Gardens Review

Leave time during the day for the Giardino di Boboli, which is a breath of fresh air. The Boboli gardens were designed and built after the Medici family moved to the Pitti Palace around 1550. Its grounds contain a café (the Kaffeehaus, which offers good views and reasonable prices) as well as a variety of statues, grottoes and other works of art.-Price is about $2 per person

Palazzo Pitti - Florence

Palazzo Pitti

Palazzo Pitti Pitti Palace & Boboli Gardens Review

The pictures are left as the Medicis hung them, which was with an eye towards decoration not edification
You can take photos inside the palace, without flash.-

Ponte Vecchio - Florence

Ponte Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio Ponte Vecchio & Arno River Review

This is the oldest bridge of Florence, built in 1345, and the only one that was not destroyed during the Second World War.
Today, the bridge is home to numerous jewelry shops selling antique and designer jewelry. The central point of Ponte Vecchio opens up into an area with stunning views of the river Arno.-

Artist in Ponte Vecchio - Florence

Artist in Ponte Vecchio

Artists in Ponte Vecchio Ponte Vecchio & Arno River Review

During the summer, there are street performers and portrait artists along the bridge. It does get very crowded with people during these times, however. But it is not to be missed!

Gate of Paradise - Florence

Gate of Paradise

The Baptistery Battistero San Giovanni & Gate of Paradise Review

Oposite the Duomo, you can also see the beautiful Baptistery and don't miss the gilded bronze doors: one by Andrea Pisano (present south door: 1336) and the other, by Lorenzo Ghiberti (north and east doors: 1427 and 1452). The latter is the famous "Gate of Paradise".-
