The Charm of Taos I love the food, art, skiing and general ambiance of the Taos area. I've stayed in a high altitiude cabin in Cuesta (bordering the Carson National Forest) in early spring . I caught a lot of trout in the local streams. I think Taos is the only place you would want to ski (in the area) if you are average or above. Wolf Creek is good but about two hours away. Usually I made at least one yearly pilgrimage to Taos by car from Dallas. No snowboarders are allowed at Taos. It, Alta, Deer Valley and Aspen Mountain are last holdout for Alpine skiing only! |
