| | The weather Milwaukee has quite a varied climate...cold, cold winters, but sometimes humid summers. The spring is such a welcome relief and the fall is a wonderful time of year. Talk about changing of the seasons, you will definitely experience it here. Summers aren't so hot in the city, due to the lake effect, but overall it gets hot in summer. |
The City For me, Milwaukee is a top notch city with great diversity. The city isn't too huge, but it does have a decent downtown and lots and lots of stuff to do and see. It has arts, major sports, and good people.
It is no longer the cheese capital, as California and the many government subsidies have changed that. | | | The best part of the city |

| | The Beer It is no longer the beer capital, although there are still many beers brewed here and Miller is really going after Anheiser Busch to at least be a semi-close second for barrels brewed...drink Miller beer to help even things out.
Many of the big names from long ago are no longer big names...Blatz, Schlitz, Pabst. You may know the names, but you don't buy them often or even find them often. There are now a number of good local smaller breweries, such as lakefront, Sprecher, and others. Anyway, Milwaukee has diversified and has many types of businesses and much to offer...including Harley Davidson...just don't drink Miller Beer and ride a Harley.
Enjoy Milwaukee. |

Babzz Wed Aug 20, 2008 17:21 UTC Love the brewery tip! Had a good laugh. | Nemorino Thu Aug 3, 2006 21:39 UTC I was shocked to learn that the Schlitz Brewery shut down in the early 80's (just shows how long I've been away). Anyway now I won't make a fool of myself and order a Schlitz when I return. I've often been to Wisconsin, but never Milwaukee (yet). | leideninlast Mon Mar 6, 2006 22:38 UTC I toured the Midwest, from Holland, in October of 2005. The MAM is the most beautiful piece of modern architecture in the world: Milwaukee beats any US city, plus London, Paris .. you name it! | shikokuzen Thu Jan 19, 2006 06:19 UTC My daughter lives in Milwaukee and loves it......i can see why...thanks |
