The Incas, one of the most impressive civilizations in America, made it's home in the impressive Valle Sagrado de los Incas (Sacred Valley). Qosqo, better known by it's Spanish name of Cusco, was the capital of the Quechua speaking Inca Empire. The decendants of this impressive society live in and around the Valle Sagrado de los Incas. They have adapted to the modern time, while retaining their Inca and Spanish roots. One of the clearest forms of this unique blends is noted in the architecture on Cusco, Ollantaytambo, and other ancient towns in the area. By the way, what you reading may seem like a dejavu. See, I have taken the liberty of including several on the tips on my Cusco page as well as the other Sacred Valley locations so there may be some repetition in this page. I figured it will make for a nice summary of the area. Nevertheless, I recommend you read each individual page for a full array of tips and pics.
