port townsend is a small town on the olympic peninsula where you find a lot of alternative communities and lifestyles.

it's a pretty little town by the sea where big franchises are not allowed in the town center and that has kept the town center quite historic.

you clearly see that this is a place where many people who used to live in the city has settled for a life more laid back where they can be close to nature.

they sure like pedalling in port townsend.

it's powerd by muscles.

in port townsend they have an annual festival where people build human powerd vehicles that can also float and then parade them through town down to the harbour where they have a race.

i was lucky to be there in september when the festival took part and it was really a lot of fun.

highly highly recommended.

Nice look at the Olympic Peninsula. There's definitely more to American fast food than McDonalds. And more to American coffee houses than Starbuck's, for that matter... Cheers, Mark
