Algarve is the southern most ptovince of Portugal and it was also the last place that the moors left when they were driven out of Portugal and that shows.
The architecture there is often very arab and you have many historical traces there from that period.

It´s also the big holiday destination and you have resort towns on the coast with dozens of hotels and tourist things.

Algarve is an interesting mix of new and old and you see many foreigners there aswell as some locals whio can still be quite traditional.

My advice would be to try and get a little around the region when you go there so that you don´t just get to see the resort area, but also some of the little off the beaten path places.

Claus, it was nice to see that you escaped to less-touristy Olhao and Tavira! They are the kind of destinations I love exploring. Your pics of beautiful Cabo soa Vicente really captured its scenic location! Would love to bike along the Algarve coast!
