I have been to portugal numerous times.
I lived and worked there several times since 1999 and keep coming back for both work and pleasure several times a year.

Portugal is quite different from most other countries in the south of Europe.
The portugese are generally more quiet compared to other latinos and they have an outlook of life that i would compare a lot to people from Greece and from the danish west coast in the way that they are generally a little sceptical about life and will always moan a bit about everything, but at the end of the day they will make sure they have had a great time, even if they won't admit it :O).

A nation of explorers.

Portugal used to be a nation of sailors that travelled the seven seas and set up trading stations and colonised the new world.
These days there is little left of that, apart from all the historical monuments these people left behind, but you see the colonial past in the way that Portugal is a very racially mixed country with lot's of influence from South America, asia and in particular Africa.

Pros and Cons

Pros:good roads for cycling and girls who like guys with blue eyes
Cons:rising prises
In a nutshell:if you want to take it easy and do nothing, you wont be alone

What a marvelous job you have done with Portugal. It is so well organized, easy to follow, helpful, and, best of all, quite honest. Love your insights and your ability to see the truth.
