  • istanbul is one of the most amazing cities on earth.
it's a city full of contrasts.
it has an old historical part where you feel that you are in the very very middle east and a modern part where you feel more like you are in milan.
take a walk around sultanahmet during the day and taksim square at night and you will know what i'm talking about.

Things To Do: the black sea coast.
  • Tip Rating:
  • the turkish black sea coast is quite untouristy, because it recieves a little more rain than the rest of the country.
that should not stop you from visiting though.
there is some very spectacular coastline and some very nice towns to visit.
if you like green moubtains that drops straight in to the ocean, then this is your place.

    Things To Do: Tuz Gölü
  • Tip Rating:
  • Tuz Gölü is a big salt lake in central turkey roughly 2 hours drive south of ankara.
it's an odd sight where you have miles after miles of flat salty plains.
there is a large industrial production of slat there, but one part of it also has a little visitor center where you can stop on your way south from ankara.
it makes a perfect stop if driving south from ankara.

Hi Claus, thanks. I absolutely love Turkey, on my last trip I also went to Pammukale, Selcuk and Ephesus but haven't got around to uploading the pics & info here. Will do soon. How was your trip?? Which place did you enjoy the most?

Hi Claus, how are you doing? Great page here on Turkey, although not one of my favourite destinations... because there are too many Germans there! haha! Cheers from the hot desert / Jess :-)
