the best way to see america. i spend 3 months cycling the american pcific coast from portland/oregon to ensenada in mexico. all together 3746 kilometers on my bicycle. it was a very nice trip through the ameican countryside, combined with lot's of freindly vt members that i met along the way. the american west coast is very suitable for tour cycling. i rode most of the way on quiet countryside roads or on bicycle paths. cycling on the quiet roads gave me a chance to meet lot's of people and see that america is not just big highways and mc donalds. |

Loved your tips on biking the west coast, especially scenes of those big redwood trees! I only do a short trip in the summer but, as you say, it is so much more fun than driving! | kevanrijn Thu Feb 15, 2007 07:34 UTC We still get our mail delivered to our front door--because we live in town. People in the country get it delivered to their mailbox--it's called rural route delivery. My Grandma used to deliver mail on horseback during WW2. |
