in denmark you will see quite a few houses with a roof made out of straw. this used to be the way all houses were made and it looks really cool. the main problem is that they catch fire easily, so therefor insurance is high on these houses. that means you don't see too many these days, but they are still there, so come and see them before expensive insurance kills them.

Roskilde is located 30 kilometers from copenhagen and is one of the most interesting towns in denmark. it's often forgotten a little bit because of it's proximity to copenhagen, but it's a very interesting town that is certainly worth a day or two. the cathedral in roskilde is one of the nicest in the country and the viking ship museum is in my opinion the most interesting museum in denmark. the viking ship museum is located down by the harbour onlt 5 minutes walk from the cathedral. Roskilde is also the host of one of the biggest music festivals in europe. it takes place the first weekend in july.

svenborg is a nice town by the sea in southern denmark with old houses and narrow street. it's a town that has always had a big connection to the sea as many navigators came from there back in the old days before sattelite navigation. svendborg is located on the island of fyn and makes a good base for exploring the neaby small islands.
