this rstaurant serves high quality local food.
this is not the cheapest place in town, but a place where you will see that danish food is not always as boring as it seems when you eat in ordinary restaurants.

Favorite Dish: the fish dishes are highly recommended.
it's a fishing town and the fish comes straight from the boats to the restaurant.

this is a little cafe that specialises in smoked fish.
it's located right next to all the fishing boats and has a very authentic atmosphere.
the place has outdoor seating too and it's a really nice place to grab a bite while sightseeing.

Favorite Dish: you haven't been to denmark if you haven't tried smoked eel.

Restaurant Name: det hvide pakhus.

det hvide pakhus is one of the nicest restaurants in town.
it serves well prepared food and also has a good selection of wine and danish micro brew.
i would consider most of the food quite local but there is quite a french touch to it too.
it´s not the cheapest place to eat, but well worth it if you wanna splurge for an evening.

Favorite Dish: they make excellent salmon and also very good rabbit.

faaborg has a turkish take away too.
this is one of the best i have tried in denmark though and the durum rolls they make there are brilliant.
way above what you get in most copenhagen places for instance.

Favorite Dish: they do fantastic durum rolls with fresh bread right out of the oven.

Restaurant Name: Det blå ishus.

Det blå ishus is a little ice cream bar with a great vareity of ice creams and the place has a couple of tables outside on the square where you can sit and enjoy it too.
they also sell coffee and juices too.
It´s located in a cute little blue house right on the main square in Faaborg.
The place is run by a very friendly danish/spanish couple who spend half the years in Gran Canaria selling flowers and the other half of the year selling ice cream in Faaborg, so the place is multi lingual and you should´t have a problem being understood.
