i was there myself because i took the tour de mont blnc trek around the highest mountain of western europe.
a very nice 8 day trek that took my fitness up to new levels.

What a beautiful place... Perfect page you wrote... Tips for everything :) You should guide annual hikes for VT!
Hiking in the Chamonix area looks terrific Claus..Im not sure about uphill but I know my knees can handle downhill no problems! Looks like a great little hotel you managed to find..all one needs to fall asleep in for sure!
a dream to hike around mont blanc! ive been around the region, but didnt get to explore outside of courmayer. i gotta get back now that im more interested in hiking!

Hey That looks like a nice place to go.
Claus I pictured you there up in the mountains with a viking helmet on yr head!dont know why...and that bridge looks excellent but almost scarey!i can happily say ive been to chamonix both winter to ski&summer, unfortunately not hiking those xlent trails!
Claus, excellent page with very useful tips. I especially like the hotel and beer tip. We thought about visiting Chamonix from Sion but finally cancelled the idea and went to Zermatt instead. :-)
