Greece is probaply the most history packed country in Europe.
You can hardly go anywhere without seeing traces of ancient civilisations dating thousands of years back.
On top of that the country has beautiful nature and excellent beaches so it´s no siprise it´s one of the top holiday destinations in Europe.

Greek coastline.

Greece also offers lot´s of unspolit coastline where you can have it all to yourself.
sure you have packed beaches too brimming with life and music, but if you want your own quiet spot then this is not hard to come by, especially on the greek mainland where lot´s of the coastline is deserted.

You're right, Claus, squid is one of the best things to eat in Greece in the summer - but your photo not squid, it's octopus:). (even better to eat!) . Interesting pages, and great way to travel - wish I lived in a place with Bike Culture!
