ataturk city.

by cachaseiro - last update: Oct 14, 2007

ankara is the capitol of turkey and very much a representative for modern turkish state founded by ataturk.
ankara was a tiny little town untill the turkish state was founded in 1923, but ataturk decided to move the capital from istanbul to ankara and city planners created a new giant city in central anatolia.
the fact that city planners has played a big role in creting ankara means that it is in many ways a very pleasant city to live in with lot's of parks and space to breathe.

it's not a city with lot's of tourist attractions, but it's worth a couple of days and it gives you a good impression of the modern turkish state.

This hotel looks good as we plan to spend one night in Ankara and only need a place to sleep . I phoned twice to make a reservation but always someone who doesn't speak english answered the call. Well, I'll try again as there is still plenty of time.
